Perfect World Masters Minor Group B has come to a close. Unexpected results find Team Kinguin in the top place seed while LGD Gaming has been eliminated from the event.
Originally classified as the 'group of death' Group B turned out to have more surprises than anticipated.
Team Kinguin rose to the top when the David vs Goliath matchup against Team Secret gave the underdogs of the group a shocking 2:0 victory. The all Polish lineup used a carry Dazzle and proved that not only were they unpredictable and unconventional in their drafts, they would not shrink in fear in the presence of more experienced or larger enemies. The team overpowered Team Secret and also took one match off the SEA giants -Mineski.
Mineski were able to stave off elimination when they went head to head with LGD Gaming and swept through the Chinese team. LGD's engagements were not always on point and struggled with their mid game, giving away their lead and control in the first game and then never seeming to be able to get a firm grasp on the second match. Having had already lost one match against Newbee earlier, their loss sent them towards the bottom of the brackets.
The last matchup of the day was the deciding series of elimination. Both Team Secret and LGD Gaming were looking down the barrel of an early exit as Team Secret headed into battle against Newbee. With their tournament lives potentially on the line, there was no room for error for Team Secret. The European juggernauts managed to breakthrough Newbee's powerful stronghold and take them down in a clean 2:0 knockout.
Team Secret's victory granted them 3 points for the series, securing them a playoff position and denying LGD Gaming a place in the main event.
