View Full Version : Rogue to dreamhack austin final over fragsters

Nairobi
03-06-18, 21:03
It took Rogue (https://www.hltv.org/team/7157/rogue) three maps, Nuke (16-13), Inferno (11-16), and Dust2 (16-5), to eliminate Fragsters (https://www.hltv.org/team/6855/fragsters)and move on to the final where they will wait for the winner of Heroic (https://www.hltv.org/team/7175/heroic) vs. Space Soldiers (https://www.hltv.org/team/5929/space-soldiers).
The first semi-final of the day kicked off with Rogue (https://www.hltv.org/team/7157/rogue) and Fragsters (https://www.hltv.org/team/6855/fragsters) going head-to-head, with the Danes' map pick, Nuke, going first. The first pistol round went to Rogue (https://www.hltv.org/team/7157/rogue), on the attack, as Ricardo "Rickeh" Mulholland (https://www.hltv.org/player/8745/Rickeh) and Hunter "SicK" Mims (https://www.hltv.org/player/9258/SicK) got underway with doubles. They then took it to 4-0 after the first gun round, but a forcebuy with four CZ frags and a scout kill gave got Fragsters (https://www.hltv.org/team/6855/fragsters) on the board. It looked like the North American team would be the one to take the half with the early lead, but a strong defense eventually carried Fragsters (https://www.hltv.org/team/6855/fragsters) to a 9-6 lead.
The second pistol round went once again to Rogue (https://www.hltv.org/team/7157/rogue), who after winning the anti-eco and first gun round were able to bring it back to a 9-9 tie. Having lost the lead, Fragsters (https://www.hltv.org/team/6855/fragsters) called a timeout to talk about their attack. Jacob "dragonfly" Lund (https://www.hltv.org/player/10992/dragonfly) then opened with the AWP in the following round, but a quad-kill by Rickeh (https://www.hltv.org/player/8745/Rickeh) stopped the Danes in their tracks. Rounds were then traded by both teams, although Fragsters (https://www.hltv.org/team/6855/fragsters) seemed hesitant with some of their mid-round calling, eventually falling behind 11-13 going into a pistol buy. Fragsters (https://www.hltv.org/team/6855/fragsters) tried a final push, winning two rounds, but it was ultimately Rogue (https://www.hltv.org/team/7157/rogue) who were able to close the map out, 16-13.

Rogue (https://www.hltv.org/team/7157/rogue) were then able to bring it back with three rounds won in a row, but a 1vs4 clutch by dragonfly (https://www.hltv.org/player/10992/dragonfly) including a 1vs1 after-plant defense, kept the Danes in the lead, 5-4. After trading rounds, Fragsters (https://www.hltv.org/team/6855/fragsters) came out on top, breaking Rogue (https://www.hltv.org/team/7157/rogue)'s economy and going on to win the half, 9-6.
Martin "stavn" Lund (https://www.hltv.org/player/10994/stavn) and Lucas "Bubski" Andersen (https://www.hltv.org/player/9612/Bubski) downed all of their rivals to bag the first round of the second half, propelling Fragsters (https://www.hltv.org/team/6855/fragsters) to a 12-6 lead before Rogue (https://www.hltv.org/team/7157/rogue) could get a round on the board in the first gun round. Rogue (https://www.hltv.org/team/7157/rogue) then started mounting the comeback, but a 1vs3 clutch by Nicolai "torben"Amorim (https://www.hltv.org/player/10993/torben) on B got his team back on the driver's seat, one away from match point. Fragsters (https://www.hltv.org/team/6855/fragsters) went on tie the series, 1-1, after ending Inferno, 16-11.
https://static.hltv.org/images/galleries/11169-medium/1511551394.8706.jpegFragsters were unable to contest Rogue on Dust2 (https://www.hltv.org/gallery/view/96169)The decider map, Dust2, looked like it was going to go well for Fragsters (https://www.hltv.org/team/6855/fragsters), as the Danish team took the pistol round on the defending side, but Rogue (https://www.hltv.org/team/7157/rogue) had different plans, however, as the North American squad went on a rampage after winning the forcebuy, taking eight in a row. After a lengthy technical pause, Ismail "refrezh" Ali (https://www.hltv.org/player/10610/refrezh) and stavn (https://www.hltv.org/player/10994/stavn) gave their team a second round, with a double each, but Rogue (https://www.hltv.org/team/7157/rogue) won the follow-up and kept a completely dominant T-side half, 13-2.
Having won the pistol round, it looked like Rogue (https://www.hltv.org/team/7157/rogue) would go on to win it outright, but Fragsters (https://www.hltv.org/team/6855/fragsters), with two desert eagle kills by Bubski (https://www.hltv.org/player/9612/Bubski) and two CZ75 kills by refrezh (https://www.hltv.org/player/10610/refrezh) were able to keep the match alive. A clean round in which no defending player died a few rounds later, with 14-5 on the board, put Rogue (https://www.hltv.org/team/7157/rogue) on match point, which they converted the following round to take the map and match.
