Liquid have defeated MIBR 2-0 in the semis to become Astralis' opponents in the grand final at the ESL Pro League Season 8 Finals (16-2 on Cache and 16-8 on Overpass).

The second semi-final at the ESL Pro League Season 8 Finals kicked off on Cache where Liquid started on the CT-side. Epitacio "TACO" de Melo clutched a 1vs2 in the pistol round to put his team ahead. Keith "NAF" Markovic and Nick "nitr0" Cannella secured the fifth round by winning a 2vs3 during a post-plant situation.

Liquid's streak continued until the tenth round when Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo and Marcelo "coldzera" David won a 2vs3 to get on the scoreboard (9-1). However, the Brazilian team couldn't pick up another one until the end of the first half when Fernando "fer" Alvarenga got a triple kill (13-2).

NAF had a trademark performance against MIBR
TACO and nitr0 got double kills in the second pistol and NAF closed out the map two rounds later after clutching a 1vs2. The final scoreline on Cache was 16-2.

Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken & company had a similarly dominant start on Overpass, winning the pistol round as CTs and following it up by fending off MIBR comfortably in four consecutive rounds (5-0). Jake "Stewie2K" Yip found two opening kills with the Deagle in the sixth round but NAF's quad kill with an AUG and Twistzz' 1vs1 victory was enough to make it 6-0.

MIBR went out in 3-4th place
Tarik "tarik" Celik's quad kill in the eighth round gave MIBR their first round victory on Overpass (7-1). After FalleN's team got two more rounds, NAF clutched a 1vs4, massively diminishing MIBR's odds for a comeback. Liquid then picked up the final four rounds of the first half and led 12-3.

MIBR had their best run of the game to begin the second half, winning four in a row (12-7). However, NAF won two consecutive 1vs1 post-plants and then found two opening kills to make it 15-7. Liquid finished off the map 16-7, taking the series 2-0 and advancing to the grand final at the ESL Pro League Season 8 Finals.
